Shishi children's clothing by the financial turmoil intensified market transfer

The financial crisis has brought severe challenges to the Shishi children's clothing industry, as foreign trade conditions have deteriorated. With a sharp decline in overseas demand, the business of Shishi children's clothing has become even more difficult. From the end of last year to early this year, some Shishi-based children's clothing companies started to shift their production to Zhejiang, further accelerating the trend of market migration and causing growing concerns within the industry. Shishi's share in the national children's clothing market has been significantly reduced, now standing at just around 5%. This decline is clearly visible in local enterprises and markets: approximately 70% of Shishi's children's clothing businesses are export-oriented, meaning that less than 30% of companies are still trying to survive in the domestic market. In the children's clothing area of Shishi Clothing City, nearly 80% of the shops are now selling products from Guangzhou or Zhejiang, with very few local Shishi brands remaining. Moreover, the Shishi children's clothing industry has begun to experience a full-scale transfer to Zhejiang, signaling a major shift in the sector's center of gravity. This transition not only reflects the pressure from global economic fluctuations but also highlights the urgent need for Shishi's children's clothing industry to adapt, innovate, and find new growth opportunities in both domestic and international markets.
