During the month of July, we're dedicating some time to the free Lazy Days Skirt project. Recently, we've experimented with adding a double-thickness hem, creating the skirt in three colorful stripes, and rounding up various hem details. For today's post, let's revisit the classic ribbon hem, which requires 1.5 yards of ribbon in any width greater than 1/4". There are many types of ribbons that could work beautifully for this kind of hem. I recently crafted five Lazy Days Skirts, each featuring a different ribbon from The Ribbon Jar. Julie, the owner of The Ribbon Jar—an online shop specializing in ribbons and trims sold by the yard—has generously offered a giveaway. Details are at the end of this post.

At The Ribbon Jar, you'll discover the finest ribbons and trims sourced from all over the globe, with many coming from France and Japan. Whether you're into silk, satin, velvet, grosgrain, Italian, herringbone, or even ric-rac, there's something for every taste.
If you're searching for a thoughtful gift for one of your crafty friends, consider gifting them one of their beautiful ribbon jars, such as the beachcomber jar.

For those who prefer shopping by the yard, you can browse their selection either by color or type.

When choosing ribbons for a Lazy Days Skirt hem, I highly recommend their grosgrain, herringbone, Jacquard, velvet, and Italian cotton ribbons.

The Ribbon Jar is generously offering a Ribbon Pack for one lucky reader to create their next Lazy Days Skirt. This pack contains 16.5 yards of ribbon—enough to make eleven different skirts! It includes eleven unique ribbons, each with its own charm.

To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment below telling us about your favorite type or color of ribbon. One entry per person, please. Entries will close at 9:00 AM ET on Friday, July 24th, 2015, and we'll randomly select a winner. The winner will be notified via email. This giveaway is international, so everyone is welcome to participate!

As an avid crafter myself, I truly appreciate the variety and quality of ribbons available at The Ribbon Jar. They’ve become my go-to source for special projects, and I hope you’ll explore their offerings too. Happy crafting!
In case you're wondering, I've been fortunate to collaborate with Julie and feature her ribbons in my recent projects. Her attention to detail and commitment to sourcing high-quality materials make The Ribbon Jar a standout shop for anyone passionate about sewing and design.
Thank you for reading, and best of luck in the giveaway! Let me know if you have any questions or if there are other topics you'd like to see covered here.
Have a great day!
Meltblown Filter Material
What is meltblown filter?
The main material of melt blown Non Woven Fabric is polypropylene material, which is a kind of ultra-fine electrostatic fiber cloth, which can capture tiny particles such as dust, pollen, germs and so on. For example, after the droplets exhaled by people are close to the melt blown non woven fabric, they will be electrostatically adsorbed on the surface of the non-woven fabric and cannot penetrate. This is the principle that medical masks use meltblown non woven filter materials to isolate germs. Meltblown non woven fabrics have the advantages of high filtration precision, small air resistance, uniform structure, large dust holding capacity and long service life, and are widely used as air filter materials.
