Fujian Bamboo Fiber Local Standards Approved

Recently, Fujian Province’s local standards for “Bamboo Fiber”, drafted by the Fujian Provincial Fiber Inspection Bureau, were approved by an expert group.

In recent years, Fujian Province has taken full advantage of bamboo resources and vigorously developed bamboo fiber technology and its application research. Many research achievements have reached the leading level in the country, and the bamboo fiber industry has continuously grown and has become a featured industry. However, at the same time, the bamboo fiber industry also has problems such as lack of standards, non-standard production, and slow product quality improvement in the development process, and the industrial development has been affected. In response to this situation, the Fujian Fiber Inspection Bureau carried out studies on bamboo fiber technology, and jointly launched the bamboo fiber standard formulation work in March 2011 with relevant companies and universities. In April this year, the first draft was successfully completed and the company extensively solicited opinions.

The “Bamboo Fiber” adopted by this time adopted the local standards of Fujian Province in accordance with the principle of “advanced technology, adapting to the national conditions, and conforming to the development characteristics of the local textile industry in Fujian Province”. For the first time, the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and signs for bamboo fiber are adopted. Content, packaging, transportation and storage are clearly defined. After the standard is released, it will effectively guide and regulate the production and sales of bamboo fiber, and improve the quality of bamboo fiber products, so as to further promote the sustainable and healthy development of the bamboo fiber industry in Fujian Province.
