Zhanjiang weaving bamboo baskets popular

Forcing closure in recent years, the streets of Zhanjiang can often see the sale of hand-woven bamboo products, such as all kinds of bamboo baskets, bamboo baskets, food baskets, etc. These traditional handmade products are actually very popular with the public. Yesterday morning, Pharaoh from Lianjiang used a variety of bamboo baskets in the car and sold it in the Nantou community in the village of Potou (pictured by Liu Jinfeng). These bamboo baskets range in price from RMB 20 to RMB 100, depending on the process and size.

Pharaoh told reporters that when he was 8 years old, he began to learn about using bamboo to make farm implements and bamboo baskets with his elders in the village. Now his hometown also grows a lot of bamboos, cut bamboo baskets in the slack season, and then they get the market to sell and they can earn some money.

"Weaving is a craft left by our old ancestors. A bamboo basket can be used for 20 or 30 years. It is a modern concept of life and health. It is very popular," said Lao Wang.
