Adidas sells Norman clothing brand Markiego to take over business

German sportswear brand Adidas said on October 24 local time that they will sell the Greg Norman brand series to Australian players and MacGregor Golf Co.

Adidas did not disclose the price to the public. It merely stated that Greg Norman's clothing store was not on sale. They will change these stores to the TaylorMade-adidas brand shop.

“Greg Norman is a premium brand and has performed well over the past few years,” said Herbert Hainer, general manager of Adidas. “It's just that it is no longer a core part of our global golf marketing strategy. ”

As the brand's comprehensive capabilities are limited and on a small scale, Adidas sold the business to Greg Norman himself and Mackio, who is based in Georgia.

In 2005, sales of the Greg-Norman brand series reached 55 million euros (US$6,890).

Suzy Biszantz, president of the New York-based Gregg-Norman brand series, said Greg Norman will still assist the company. The company's products include golf apparel and apparel.

Bizenz said: “Over the past five years, Greg Norman has always been a good partner of the company. We look forward to his further participation in the company's activities.”

Greg Norman earned a total of 86 victories in his career, including the 1986 and 1993 British Open.

Adidas’s stock fell by 0.8% in Frankfurt's trading market that day, dropping to 39.17 euros per share.
