Norway to Exempt Tariffs from Textiles in 29 Developing Countries

In the draft budget for 2013, the Norwegian government plans to cut textile import tariffs by half and exempt from tariffs on textiles from 29 developing countries. Norway's domestic reaction to the government's proposal is mixed. Textile sellers welcome this, while textile manufacturers believe that this will significantly weaken the competitiveness of Norwegian industry.
