Excerpts from some interviews:
Q: Can you tell us about this series? Â
A: The show organized by Lilang this time is part of the Van Gogh Induction Art Exhibition held in Shanghai. When I learned that I wanted to do this show, the first thing I did was to read all of Van Gogh's paintings and I had some understanding of his life. Going back to Van Gogh's life, he later moved to Europe. He has been constantly searching for new things, new discoveries, and new ways of art. He is the person of modernism. Therefore, by watching so many Van Gogh paintings, we can change and promote the current fashion world and change the way people see new things. This is a very encouraging thing for me.
Q: Can you tell us in detail how inspired Van Gogh has given you in your design?
A: Of course. You know that we are focusing on Van Gogh's paintings this time. We use them from the details, such as internal prints, lines, and trimming, and we also use local large-scale images to express, like a walking oil painting. At the same time, I also learn from the way the master looks at things, always looking for new things. At the same time, we are looking for some new technologies to perform, trying to break some of the boundaries of fashion through technological means. Â
Q: You mentioned the fabric. I think that using Van Gogh as the inspiration must be a bit difficult, because it is necessary to use fabrics to present his paintings themselves. Â
A: We all know that yellow is a kind of color that looks very strong and has "impact". Yellow in the fashion world is also a very difficult color to use. However, we tried to use different methods to make it feel attractive, interesting, and refreshing. Van Gogh is very good at using different textures. His paintings are not smooth. They use a lot of strokes, so they look three-dimensional. So, we searched and used a lot of fabrics. We cut them together and stitched them together to make the whole outfit look more spacious.
This cross-boundary series of manuscripts:
"Heaven" sweater, simple yet warm
"Van Gogh's Bedroom" set, bold and stylish
"Sunflower" suit suit, officially without losing fashion
"Starry Sky" windbreaker, the inner design is simply "Mensao" to the burst table
"Sower" jacket, mature but not boring
