Gao Fang introduced the cotton purchase and storage policies of the past three years to the representatives of the participating countries at home and abroad, the purpose and current status of the implementation of target price reform this year, and the situation of cotton supply and demand and price operation this year. In the past three years, China has accumulatively collected a total of 16 million tons, accounting for 80% of the total output, and protected the interests of cotton farmers. With the changes in the market situation, it is imperative to adjust the policy this year.

When talking about prices, Gao Fang pointed out that this year's cotton prices have rapidly declined sharply since the end of storage in March, and the gambling transaction is also very active. After entering the month of October, with some large-scale enterprises entering the market, the price gradually stabilized. .

Demand for cotton continued to decline in the first three years, but cotton yarn imports increased, and real demand for cotton declined slightly. It is expected that this year's cotton consumption will increase by some 8.5 million tons or more.

The target price policy will encourage cotton production in such advantageous regions as Xinjiang, but the China Cotton Association will also recommend appropriate support for the advantageous regions of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River to form a harmonious development of the three major cotton regions, and ultimately ensure that two-thirds of the cotton is self-sufficient rate.
